Job Summary:

Our client, a leading innovator in large-scale digital platforms, is looking for a Distinguished Engineer – API Platform (GraphQL) to help shape the future of their technology ecosystem.

In this role, you will drive the technical vision for complex, high-impact systems and guide engineering teams in delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.

• Champion a forward-thinking technical strategy for the API and platform domain
• Break down complex challenges into actionable, high-quality engineering solutions
• Oversee and elevate technical design, architecture, and implementation standards
• Serve as the go-to expert for performance, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence
• Continuously explore advanced technologies and share insights with the engineering community
• Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while ensuring meaningful impact
• Mentor engineers and product teams, fostering strong technical growth across the organization

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 7+ years of experience in general software development
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture

Preferred Qualifications:

• 10+ years coding in one or more languages such as Golang, Rust, JavaScript, Python, or Java
• 10+ years hands-on experience across the full system development lifecycle
• 5+ years designing and operating distributed, large-scale systems
• 5+ years working with AWS and cloud-native infrastructure practices
• 5+ years experience with DevOps and AWS Infrastructure-as-Code
• 3+ years working with GraphQL technologies
• 3+ years implementing authentication/authorization frameworks, including GraphQL-specific security (fine-grained controls, rate limiting, query complexity management)
• 3+ years working with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience operating with an SRE-focused mindset
