Summary: The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of Niagara’s products in the central region of the US. This position will focus on push through selling activities of the Niagara brand to the wholesale market with an emphasis on service plumbers, mechanical contractors, including networking and building relationships with wholesalers, manufacturers’ representatives, company owners, and other industry contacts. This is a full-time exempt position working Monday through Friday with some weekends required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Sales revenue in their territory.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements selling and share growth strategies to maximize Wholesale sales and market penetration for Niagara Conservation. Works closely with Rep Agencies, Wholesalers, Wholesaler Showrooms, Plumbers, Mechanical contractors to strengthen relationships and gain market share for Niagara Conservation. Anticipates wholesalers, builders and plumbers’ issues and requirements and addresses them in a proactive manner.
  • Manage distribution network in assigned territory and ensuring Niagara Conservation has the proper coverage in each region. This will entail finding new distributors and managing the current distributors based on performance.
  • Select and manage rep agencies in their territory to ensure Niagara Conservation sales targets, budget commitments, new product introductions, account profitability and organizational objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Work with assigned agents, or as assigned, on a rotating basis to assist them in solving sales problems and improving their sales techniques. Evaluates Rep agent’s performance and assists them in maximizing their contribution to Niagara Conservation and the customer.
  • Builds and maintains productive relationships with Rep Agencies, Wholesalers, Wholesaler Showrooms, Plumbers, Mechanical Contractors and (both current and targets) to gain market share growth for Niagara Conservation.
  • Work with BDM’s on new business development with the goal of closing the opportunities in their respective territories.
  • Analyzes sales trends, customer reactions and market forecasts to provide the company product forecast accuracy and to recommend methods to improve Niagara Conservation business.
  • Plans and implements impactful promotional strategies for Niagara Conservation.
  • Provide consistent sales coverage and tracking of Wholesalers, Wholesaler Showrooms, Plumbers, Mechanical Contractors.
  • Conduct Niagara Conservation sales meetings and training for all levels above including but not limited to Wholesalers, Wholesaler Showrooms, Plumbers, Mechanical Contractors.
  • Provide sales management with accurate, timely reports on sales activities including forecasts, budget impact, product trends, and developments in territory.
  • Communicate competitive issues or opportunities to sales/marketing management.
  • Perform all administrative duties such as T&E, budget monitoring, forecasts, job quotes, builder and plumber rebates customer profiles, targeted wholesalers, wholesaler showrooms, plumbers, builders, and sample budgets, etc.
  • Must be active with local territory PHCC, ASPE, NAHB and work to get on their committees.
  • Using company CRM to manage opportunities, deals and tasks and keeping pipeline activity up to date.
  • Attend industry trade show events and industry meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing/business or related field or five years of successful field sales experience in lieu of education.
  • Wholesale sales experience preferred.
  • Five to seven years of field sales experience.
  • Ability to make travel and event recommendations based on clients’ interests and personalities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare schedules and itineraries.
  • Proficient computer and research skills to book travel, lodging, and tickets to attractions.

Job Requirements:

  • Communications skills: Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, internal and external, of all backgrounds and educational levels.
  • Organizational skills: Must be comfortable juggling numerous clients, meetings, and deadlines. Those who are highly organized are best equipped to manage the many parts of the job and various tasks.
  • Technical and computer skills: Must be able to use our CRM to track activity, leads, tasks, etc, and also be able to create presentations and word documents.
  • Time-management skills: Must understand how to prioritize their time and be comfortable managing their calendar and adjusting their schedule as needed.
  • Drive and self-motivation: As this role is mainly in the field, being goal oriented and internal drive are a must.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Must have the ability to stand, sit, and move for long periods of time.
  • Must have the ability to use all aspects of a computer.
  • This position only allows for teleworking when traveling. If this position is not traveling, the expectations are for this position to be in the office.
  • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
