Sunland Group, Inc. (Sunland) has an immediate opening for a full-time Project Architect with a passion for peer and code plan review to support our growing architecture practice. This position is in Dallas, Texas, and will be assigned to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport to provide plan and code compliance reviews. The role is estimated to be at DFW International Airport 2 to 3 days per week with a hybrid work option contingent on client needs and work volume.
In this role you will be expected to:
- Interpret and apply knowledge of building codes and standards for peer and code compliance reviews of aviation project architectural drawings and specifications.
- Participate in project design coordination meetings and comment resolution meetings.
- Prepare reports or studies as requested by the client and/or owner.
- Coordinate project deliverables with team members and clients within project schedule deadlines and in line with client-required documentation processes.
- Maintain consistent, reliable communication.
- Exhibit strong organizational and communication skills.
Additionally, we are looking for the following knowledge and abilities:
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, design process, A/E industry drawing conventions and standards, building systems, building technology, and delivery methods.
- An ability to work in a team environment with consultants and maintain client communications and expectations, taking responsibility for the complete integration of design and technical aspects of a project.
- Dedication to quality control.
Educational and certification requirements and preferences:
- Registered Architect in the State of Texas, required.
- 5-8 years minimum of experience required, preferably with aviation or similar public sector design.
- Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam proficiency, required.
- Proficient professional verbal and written skills, required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Certified General Plans Examiner, Building Examiner (ICC B3), preferred.
