University Development’s purpose is to support the mission of the university by raising private resources to enhance financial support for students, faculty, programs, and facilities. University Development provides leadership and centralized services to all development offices throughout the University, serving as a focal point for annual giving, application development and IT support; campaign management; constituent programs; corporate and foundation relations; donor relations; gift planning; gift services; industry relations; marketing/communications; parents giving; principal gifts; prospect management, research and analytics; regional programs; scholarships and student aid; talent management; university events; and volunteer engagement.

Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
Reporting to the Creative Director and working closely with the Assistant Director of Photo and Video, this position serves as a photographer and videographer in the University Development Office capturing, editing, brainstorming, and producing photos and videos that will be used on all UDO marketing materials, including print and web. Beyond exceptional photography and videography skills, storytelling is key. Also are accuracy, ability to meet tight deadlines, teamwork, and strong organization. Being able to photograph subjects while capturing their interests and character, as well as stellar ability to shoot and edit compelling video stories are a must.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Advanced knowledge and experience shooting, editing, and presenting finished video/photographic works. Strong knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom and digital asset management is essential. Good people skills, adaptability, efficiency, and storytelling instincts as well as a willingness to learn new information are pivotal in this role.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with event photography/videography, as well as portraits, editorial, action, and documentary styles. Experience editing longer form videos as well as social media cuts. Knowledge of Adobe After Effects is preferred.
