This is a 6 month contract.

 

 

We're looking for a highly motivated OSP Engineer with 5+ years of experience who thrives in a collaborative environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring our client's network runs smoothly and efficiently by:

  • Designing the physical layout of fiber optic cables for new builds, expansions, and service requests (FTTH/FTTX)
  • Analyzing potential routes and creating detailed maps for both aerial and underground installations
  • Overseeing initial site visits to assess feasibility and equipment space needs
  • Ensuring designs meet all industry standards and regulations
  • Creating comprehensive project documentation including drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Working with procurement teams to source the necessary materials and equipment
  • Managing the construction and installation of fiber optic cables, conduits, and related components
  • Collaborating with internal teams to coordinate all outside plant activities
  • Providing technical expertise for troubleshooting and resolving network issues
  • Keeping project managers and stakeholders informed on progress, milestones, and potential challenges
  • Evaluating proposals and drawings from vendors to ensure qualifications, scope accuracy, and competitive pricing
  • Guaranteeing completion of all close-out documents
  • Conducting routine inspections of the fiber optic network
  • Identifying and addressing potential network vulnerabilities while maintaining budget constraints

The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Construction or Engineering (or equivalent experience) and brings a strong foundation in:

  • FTTH, FTTX, and construction contracts/bidding procedures
  • Ability to interpret fiber optic test results (Power Meter & OTDR)
  • Proficiency with CAD and other design software programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and perform under pressure
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed
