Job Description:

American Express Global Business Travel events and programs aligned to the business strategy and priorities for internal, external and industry driven events. We are seeking a high energy, creative marketing, events and communications professional that has a desire to be part of a fast-paced dynamic team environment. The Operations Manager will support Global Events in data management, communications, payments and financial management, as well as project management. Global Events supports business units across Amex GBT achieve program objectives;

  • Create thoughtfully paced high value touch points with clients and prospects
  • Execute industry leading, experience–led events that drive commercial and reputational results
  • Deliver globally consistent, locally relevant content and messaging
  • Drive 2-way communication with key strategic clients through strategic engagement and council


Responsibilities:

  • Adaptable support of Director, Global Events and high performing global team on special projects as assigned
  • Generate and foster vendor partnerships that strengthen the consistency in delivery across multiple events.
  • Create and lead database initiatives to manage data across team
  • Oversee vendor contracts and onboarding
  • Expand team efficiencies that will extend throughout the Global Events team and ultimately cross-departments for enhanced workflow.
  • Manages vendor relationships and negotiations.
  • Manages meeting card reconciliation for high volume of transactions
  • Manage payments via PO process
  • Provide on-site support for events
  • Review sponsor funding requests in support of Global Events and supplier partnerships
  • Manage and update global events calendar and intranet page
  • Create events communications and updates for commercial teams
  • Manage high volume of events inquiries
  • Manage events compliance submissions
  • Some travel may be required (economy)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Event Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • Proven success in Project Management, to include project planning and execution
  • Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment of competing priorities.
  • Proven ability to routinely work on multiple tasks with multiple people while effectively prioritizing.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20%

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $50,000 to $100,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
