Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

• Mechanical Engineers perform design & inspection for movable bridges and other heavy movable structures
• Mechanical Engineers prepare contract plans, special provisions, engineer’s estimates, inspection reports, and technical memorandums
• Review drawings and recommend necessary changes
• Research design options and document findings for project managers
• Works independently and mentors one or more mechanical engineers or design staff
• Duties will involve a mixture of office and fieldwork

Required Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Minimum five years experience in the design and inspection of heavy movable structures such as bridges, locks, and dams

Preferred Qualifications

• Movable bridge, tunnel, and ferry experience
• Experience with Microstation and AutoCAD computer-aided design and drafting software
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to travel for short-term assignments
