Job Description

A bit about this role:

Devoted Health’s creative team is looking for a copywriter who can help create easy-to-understand, strategic assets for our members, prospects and partners. This role will not only help write a wide variety of marketing assets, but also has an integral part in shaping creative strategy for our channels.

3. You bring a strategic customer-first mindset to your work, keeping the “what’s in it for me?” message top of mind and partnering with design to make sure the important info is present and pops.
4. You’re a self-starter who thrives in high-volume, fast-paced environments and knows how to get things done.

Your responsibilities and impact will include:

1. Creating marketing assets for our traditional media channels including direct mail, publications, print collateral, internal communications, out-of-home, flyers, brochures, etc.
2. Working alongside designers to make sure your copy sings in layout and meets the creative strategy
3. Collaborating with business owners and SMEs to sharpen creative and business strategy for our assets
4. Understanding our marketing’s results and using that to drive new creative iterations and campaigns
5. Researching and writing branded content (articles, webinars, tip sheets) that educates our audience on Medicare and aligns with our overall brand strategy
6. Editing and de-jargoning emails and letters to make them friendly, plain-language materials
7. Establishing relationships with in-house subject matter experts to guarantee our materials are accurate and helpful
8. Being open to feedback and revisions on your writing

Required skills and experience:

Note: Portfolio/Writing samples and cover letter are required. Applications without both will not be considered.

1. 4-6 years as a copywriter, preferably in corporate or agency, experience in the medical field is a plus
2. Creative problem-solver, capable of considering the big picture while tackling the nitty gritty
3. Experience helping define creative strategy as well as execute on creative briefs
4. Self-starter comfortable working independently and with a team
5. Fast learner who isn’t afraid to ask questions and scrub in to help
6. Proven experience taking complex topics and explaining them in simple marketing assets
7. Excellent organizational and communication skills
8. Familiar with using a style guide (AP Stylebook, in-house, etc.)
9. Plain language experience a plus
10. Copyediting and editing skills also a plus
11. Healthcare experience not required, but research skills are a must
12. This position is remote, but candidate must work on a schedule that aligns with East Coast hours
13. Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or a similar field

Our ranges are purposefully broad to allow for growth within the role over time. Once the interview process begins, your talent partner will provide additional information on the compensation for the role, along with additional information on our total rewards package. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
