The Lead Wastewater Technician plays a vital role in the operations and maintenance of water and wastewater systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs water and wastewater systems maintenance
• Inspects, installs, repairs, replaces, tests and certifies water mains, water services, water meters, fire hydrants, backflow protection devices and other related water system assets.
• Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces sewer lines, lateral cleanouts, manholes, and collection mains
• Utilizes video equipment on sewer lines to determine systems issues and deficiencies
• Inspects sewer lift stations and conducts visual inspections of wet wells and pump cycling and float conditions
• Ensure SCADA alarms are properly working and communicating
• Respond to service orders quickly and accurately
• Interpret technical documents to include manuals, blueprints, and system maps.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed to include dump trucks, backhoes, and vactor trucks
• Perform basic maintenance of equipment
• Act as team lead for all Wastewater Technicians
• Delegate tasks to team
• Ensure the Wastewater team is adhering to all safety guidelines

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• 7 years of Wastewater experience
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Must have and keep the appropriate water/wastewater operator certification
• Experience with water and wastewater systems
• Experience operating heavy machinery
• Must have comprehensive safety knowledge related to general construction, water, and wastewater systems
