The Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) is the premier legal association in the state. As a voluntary membership organization, the Association's primary focus is to help Illinois lawyers practice more efficiently by providing time and money-saving services, practice resources and continuing legal education.

We are seeking an experienced Member Service Representative (MSR) in our Springfield, Illinois headquarters. MSR's are the primary individuals responsible for answering all incoming calls and questions, maintenance of membership records, processing of membership applications, and other related membership record activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Answering all incoming phone calls and providing the requested information, or transferring the call to the appropriate staff
2. Answering web chat requests from the ISBA website
3. Receiving and assisting in all membership-related and dues-related inquiries via telephone, email, and/or facsimile
4. Processing all changes to membership records (e.g., newly admitted attorneys, law students, deceased, privileged, resignations, reinstatements, address changes, email changes, E-clips additions, etc.)
5. Processing hard-copy membership applications
6. Processing dues payments
7. Processing individual requests for receipts, invoices, and other documents
8. Verifying newly admitted attorneys and processing newly admitted attorney membership forms after each attorney admission ceremony
9. Receiving all returned mail, and locating and inputting new mailing information associated with returned mail
10. Staffing membership tables at ISBA events

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Ability to communicate effectively with professionals, both verbally and in writing
2. Excellent customer service and organizational skills
3. High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and its included software
4. Experience with membership databases or CRM software
5. Detail oriented
6. Strong work ethic
7. Ability to multi-task

REQUIREMENTS

An undergraduate degree or commensurate experience with proven customer service and database skills. Experience with multi-line telephone operations in a professional setting.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Perform in office work which is primarily sedentary in nature. Ability to occasionally travel on ISBA business and lift/carry/transport boxes up to 40 pounds.
