Human Resources Manager
This position, which reports directly to the Company President, oversees all generalist areas of human resources for a manufacturing company with 150 associates. Primary areas of responsibility include managing turnover, recruiting, payroll and benefits administration, driving positive employee relations and monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Company's legal obligations as to the FMLA, ADA, EEO/Affirmative Action, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment, and other employment laws. This position manages a Payroll Administrator.
Key Accountabilities include:
Coordinate all aspects of talent acquisition including sourcing, recruiting, interviewing, selection and other duties related to the hiring process. In addition, oversee on-boarding activities for new hires
Drive and coordinate annual benefits enrollment process, provide employee support on benefits issues throughout the year, and analyze benefits data from carriers and broker
Ensure compliance of federal and state laws, including preparation and submission or records maintenance for required reporting (EEO-1, OSHA, ACA, ADA, I-9s). Responsible for maintenance of Personnel Records in compliance with all privacy regulation
Work closely with company managers to administer company policies, and provide coaching/ guidance on employee issues related to performance, discipline, retention, compensation, training and development, etc.
Administer Leaves of Absences (FMLA, STML, PFML, etc)
Continually assess current HR practices and processes, and offer sound recommendations regarding best HR practices
Manage various aspects of the Onyx safety program, including the management of the company’s Substance Abuse Program, coordination of required medical testing (Hearing Conservation, Vision Testing, Respirator Fit Testing, DOT), OSHA incident reporting, and oversight of Workers Compensation cases
PositionRequirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, or Business Administration required
Minimum of 4 –6 years of experience working in human resources, preferably in a manufacturing or production-related environment
Knowledge and experience in interpreting labor laws to ensure compliance, administering benefits and compensation programs, recruiting and on-boarding new employees, employee relations
Experience with organizational development and training a plus. Familiarity with OSHA and prior experience with worker safety programs a plus
Ability to work effectively and build relationships with others. This includes solid verbal communication, writing and listening skills, as well as being dependable, reliable and empathetic
Proven record of attention to detail and accuracy Demonstrated ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks simultaneously to maintain an effective and organized function
Ability to maintain utmost level of confidentiality
