At Sierra Space we envision a future where humanity lives and works in space, on moons, and on distant planets. Our mission isn’t restricted to the few, instead we see a future where all people can choose to live, work, discover and explore beyond our planet. Our company is building a platform in space to benefit life on Earth and together we will alter the course of humanity.

We have a bold mission. We are a bold company. Together, we are an extraordinary team.

About the Role

If you have a keen eye for the big picture, excellent marketing data analysis skills, and enjoy working collaboratively, join our team!

As a Government Relations Analyst, you'll research and analyze product preference/potential, market size and penetration, competition and marketing practices and trends. You'll collect and maintain information on requirements, organization, budget, and preferences of prospective customers and competitors and make recommendations to management regarding developments in market trends as they apply to our strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Analyst will directly support the Sierra Space GovOps Domestic Policy & Legislative Affairs team in achieving Sierra Space priorities on Capitol Hill and within Executive Branch agencies such as the White House, National Space Council, FAA, NASA, Commerce Department and others.

  • Monitor key Hill committees for hearings and mark-ups, watch hearings and take notes on key issues, and prepare memos on testimony.

  • Conduct legislative and regulatory research as well as draft letters, emails, issue papers and slide decks/presentations for external and internal audiences.

  • Keep up to date lists of key Capitol Hill and Administration contacts and meeting notes.

  • Track industry news and third party/association groups to flag events, public statements, and other timely developments of interest for the GovOps team.

  • Contribute to drafting and collecting team inputs for the weekly GovOps report to the Sierra Space Executive Leadership Team (ELT).

  • Take on an immediate project working with the Sierra Space supply chain team to map major suppliers and their workforces and generate a Sierra Space Economic Impact Analysis for use with policymaker audiences.

  • Also help with administrative tasks. This will include periodically covering the front desk, serving as a back-up scheduler for executive leaders, organizing and setting up team meetings and conference calls, and managing the logistics of executive visits to Washington, DC.

  • This is an in-person, in-office, full-time role in the Sierra Space DC office in Arlington, VA.
