Position Description:

Caliola builds secure and resilient products for mission critical solutions. We are seeking a front-end software engineer with backend and database experience who can lead a team to develop GUIs for our customer-facing products. Our front-end tech stack includes TypeScript, Vue.js, and Node.js. We use Tauri for desktop deployment and Ionic for mobile. As a front-end software engineer, you will work with a team of developers located across the Front Range of Colorado. Once onboarded to Caliola, you will begin work with a team on one of our many full stack applications which include communication mission planners for the Navy, alternative position, navigation, and timing application, or a mesh VPN interface.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Leadership Responsibilities
2. Derive technical requirements from project requirements to deliver project milestones.
3. Lead agile meetings to maintain project direction and organization.
4. Identify, create, prioritize, and assign tasks to junior staff using agile tools and practices.
5. Support the development of technical and non-technical deliverables.
6. Work with the UX/UI team to communicate technical limitations and offer ideas to accomplish effective design.
7. Generate progress reports and documentation for customers.
8. Technical Responsibilities
9. Regularly contribute code to production codebases.
10. Review code written by peers providing guidance and upholding standards.
11. Develop front-end and back-end software to support the user facing elements of Caliola's products.
12. Define and implement unit tests or system tests.
13. Develop and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
14. Develop and maintain UI components adhering to Caliola's design system.

What We Require:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
2. 7–12 years of directly relevant professional experience in front-end software engineering, including demonstrated expertise designing, building, and maintaining production front-end application.
3. Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript.
4. Production experience with frameworks such as Vue, React, Solid, or Angular.
5. Strong understanding of asynchronous programming models (promises, callbacks, etc.)
6. Experience with server-side technologies (e.g., Rust, Go, Node.js, or Python).
7. Experience with containerization and virtualization.
8. Experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab or similar.
9. Experience with Git version control software.
10. Strong technical communication skills and attention to detail are a must.
11. Current or recent U.S. Government Security clearance at the Secret level or higher. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens. In addition, applicants who accept a conditional offer of employment may be subject to government security investigation(s) and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
