The FP&A Analyst will be planning, forecasting, and budgeting in addition to any activities that support Moon Valley Nurseries major business decisions and overall financial health
- 2‐5 year(s) of experience in financial planning & analysis, retail nursery beneficial
- Experience in investment banking, private equity, or at a public company is required
- Implement budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and business planning processes and toolsets, positioning the company for expansion
- Own monthly processes to monitor progress against goals and evaluate budget variances to ensure a clear understanding of factors influencing our financial position and key metrics
- Work closely with the accounting and other departments to drive the process, data collection and reporting across the organization
- Produce monthly KPI (Key Performance Indicator) reports and financial package for senior executives to evaluate the company's financial performance and operational performance
- Create return on investment (ROI) templates used for company‐wide projects
- Expert proficiency in financial modeling and analyzing complex and large data sets
- Track-record of collaborating with cross-functional partners to lead transformation and growth
- Excellent proficiency with accounting and corporate finance including topics such as standard costing, manufacturing, revenue recognition, capitalization & accruals
- Work closely with the accounting and other departments to drive the process, data collection and reporting across the organization
- Implementation of web‐based BI (Business Intelligent) planning application within (12) months from the time of implementation to the launch of the fully operational BI planning application
- Experience supporting major functional areas within an organization with experience in financial analysis, headcount/resource management and business metric reporting
- Experience with a fast-growing company, navigating growth up to $1B in sales is preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Model transactions such as capital raises and M&A
- Provide support to accounting during month end close and external audits
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics or similar quantitative field
CPA license preferred
Required Job Skills
High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Experience with Adaptive Financial Planning
Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Oracle & Great Plains
Proficiency in developing reporting from various database structures
