Organization: Florida Asian American Justice Alliance (FAAJA)

Location: Florida

Employment Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week)

Reports To: FAAJA Board

 

 

About Us:

FAAJA is a bipartisan non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the rights and interests of Asians against discrimination and hate by promoting social justice and equality and furthering the economic, cultural, political, and civic engagement of Florida's Asian community. With the increasing number of discrimination and hate crimes against Asians in recent years in the United States, we believe it was necessary to form this organization to speak up and support Florida’s Asian community.

Position Overview:

The position is integral to supporting the organization's daily operations and driving key initiatives. Responsibilities include managing administrative tasks, coordinating events and activities, conducting community outreach, maintaining and updating social media platforms, and assisting with fundraising efforts and event planning. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills, and a deep commitment to FAAJA’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks, including managing communications, scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Manage and update social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) by regularly posting content that promotes organizational events, activities, and advocacy initiatives, while actively engaging with the community to increase awareness and support for the organization's mission.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other non-profit organizations and legislators, including but not limited to Asian American, Black American, Latino American, and Jewish American groups, to strengthen partnerships, amplify shared causes, and advance civic engagement efforts.
  • Support the planning and execution of programs, events, and special initiatives.
  • Engage in community outreach, building relationships with volunteers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of organizational programs and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences.
  • Weekly Communication and Implementation of Decisions Made by the FAAJA Board of Directors.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in non-profit work, administration, or community engagement is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience with social media management and event planning, particularly focused on civic engagement and advocacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or other office management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
