THE POSITION

We are eager to welcome a Fiscal Assistant to join the team at the Harrisburg District Office, Bureau of Disability Determination (BDD), Director’s Office. This position performs a diverse range of procurement, contracting, fiscal, and reporting activities. Bring your ambition and talents to our team!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK


As a Fiscal Assistant, you will be tasked to research and resolve fiscal issues for the Bureau, applying fiscal and procurement procedures to the transactions. You will utilize various software systems, dual Social Security Administration (SSA) and Commonwealth IT network to complete fiscal operations. It is essential that you maintain effective organization of assignments to meet priorities and deadlines. Communication, both verbally and in writing will be key in this position as you will prepare and review Bureau correspondences. You will have the opportunity to coordinate fiscal activity with internal stakeholders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  1. Full-time employment.
  2. Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  3. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  4. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  1. Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
  2. An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or
  3. Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  4. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
