We are offering a new opportunity to be a seasonal part of the Community Link team. For the past three years, we have managed Farmer’s Markets. We have established markets that promote entrepreneurship, farming, access to fresh foods, and education. This internship will allow the intern to be a part of the entire farmer’s market process and learn from market leadership about market management, promotion, hospitality, creating access to healthy food, etc.

Job Duties include:

Under the supervision of the Farmer’s Market Coordinator, the Market Intern will be able to learn the in-and-outs of running farmer’s markets.

Opportunities:

- Learn hospitality with vendor management (particular the day of market)

- Learn administration of vendor recruitment and fee collection

- Learn marketing and promotion for local farmer’s markets

- Learn event management with working through logistics of how to run a successful market

- Create social media and marketing campaigns

- Equip vendors to assist with Power of Produce (POP) program that focuses on educating school-aged children on healthy eating and agriculture.

- Assists SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) recipients in successfully using SNAP at our farmer’s markets.

- Promote public health and community building

- Assist Market Coordinator on day-of procedures for running a market

Requirements:

· Comfortability outdoors in hot and cold weather

Demonstrated skills to engage staff, vendors, and volunteers

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

· Willingness to be part of a collaborative environment and work closely with colleagues

· Computer skills including:

o Microsoft Office Suite

o Social Media Platforms

o Canva

This is a part-time position with 15-30 hours per week. Must be available on Saturdays.
