This person will increase the organization’s visibility, advocacy efforts, and outreach in order to support the organization's short and long term goals.
  • In the first 1-2 years, this will include a concerted focus on board engagement, member recruitment and engagement, to ensure the organization's financial sustainability and continued impact, and developing the organization’s operational infrastructure to support the execution of the strategic plan.
  • In collaboration with the AEAW Governing Members, plan, coordinate, and implement events such as roundtables, forums, Hill Days, and meetings with federal agencies and congressional member offices.
  • Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Must be able to represent the organization as the primary contact and authority in all manners.
  • Work closely with the Governing Members and advisory Board to provide regular updates, solicit input, and collaborate on various matters, including board recruitment, orientation, and development.
  • Social media management
  • Media and legislative monitoring of issues of interest or importance to the Alliance.
  • Implement and oversee budget, financial planning and reporting to the Board.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred in a relevant field such as public policy, or nonprofit management.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience and results in public policy, disability policy, diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, or other related field.
  • Progressive experience in a senior management or leadership role.
  • Results-oriented and proven ability to anticipate future needs and make decisions in a changing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans, manage complex projects, and achieve measurable results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • This is a salaried, full-time remote position with some weekends, and evenings. Travel will be required frequently to the national capitol region.
