ENGN Engineering Entry Level - Engineering. The Engineer is under the general direction of the Engineering Manager. He or she designs and develops manufacturing processes for the production of aluminum impacts, including all design and development of drawings, tooling, gauge, and any other supporting documentation/tooling. The Engineer must perform tasks with little or no supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Engineer essential duties include, but are in no way limited to:

  • Make rounds around areas of responsibility to ensure proper functioning of area
  • Make changes to the process when necessary.
  • Assist operators in clarifying the processes and procedures in areas of responsibilities
  • Go to Quality Control to check 1st article and match with print. If inconsistent, either change out tooling, revise tooling, or sign off print
  • Monitor press production of new fabrication
  • Ensure efficiencies of machine production
  • Review processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Fabricate tooling drawings
  • Write and maintain routers
  • Diagnose machinery problems and implement solutions

The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work environment is primarily indoors in an office setting.
  • When working out in the Production area temperatures can exceed 90°F
  • Be aware of electrical and mechanical hazards
  • Will encounter dust, grease, fumes, heat and noise from machines.

All of the above physical activities were described and observed to be essential and could not be modified.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Stand/walk continuously throughout the scheduled shift.
  • Lift and manipulate parts up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of repetitive reaching, twisting and bending.

SENSORY/COGNITIVE DEMANDS:

  • Communicate effectively with Engineering and Production personnel.
  • Solve complicated and intricate problems
  • Make quick and accurate decisions.
  • Read travelers, blueprints and other technical drawings.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing)
  • College credits in metallurgic aspects
  • Exposure to manufacturing environment for a minimum of 4 years to include processes, procedures, expectations, and requirements is a plus.
