Flagship Publishing Inc is hiring an Editor to lead editorial for Colorado's and Utah's bimonthly statewide magazines.

Core Responsibilities

• Plan, assign, schedule and edit writing content for six bimonthly magazines, annual publications and websites
• Travel Colorado and Utah to report and write stories
• Manage freelance writers
• Manage editorial writing budget
• Edit freelance and staff stories
• Generate and solicit story ideas
• Co-lead internal editorial planning and production meetings
• Engage with business and community leaders
• Represent the magazine at public events and meetings
• Become an authority on all things Colorado and Utah

Qualifications

• 5+ years of journalistic writing experience (magazines, news, websites)
• 2+ years of editing experience

Skills

• Interviewing and researching
• AP writing style
• Narrative writing
• Developmental editing, structural editing and copy editing
• Freelance writer coordination
• Editorial budgeting
• Bonus skills: Photography, public relations, social media

Location: Fort Collins, CO

Pay: Starting at $50,000 per year.
