The Director of Marketing Consultant role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the successful delivery and execution of work by teams, functions & processes. You will be responsible for building, developing & retaining resources, creation, implementation, and adoption of processes, frameworks, and policies. You will oversee and ensure error & escalation-free execution of work, stay connected with the industry & client needs, their challenges, and will build team skills for current and future needs. You will build repeatable frameworks, policies, and processes that will enable the scale and growth of the Consulting Services team, their skills, capabilities, and offerings.
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead & management of Consulting Services resources. Plan & maximize utilization of resources capacity against the allocation of billable and meaningful productive work.
- Implementation and adoption of frameworks and processes that optimize and scale execution of consulting services operations.
- Build skills & capabilities that address current and future industry needs by acquiring talent and developing current resources through training, coaching, and mentoring programs.
- Quickly identify business drivers and prioritize work efforts and resources.
- Develop meaningful insights from delivery & project data, opinions, observations, interviews, and facilitated sessions.
- Manage engagement economics – proposal budgeting and pricing, margin management, billing, risk management.
People Management

You will effectively translate company goals into measurable expectations for your team. Ensure client relationships and employee development are maintained by monitoring team milestones.

It will be your responsibility to establish proactive processes to empower your managers to mitigate any operational issues or concerns. As a primarily remote organization, internal communication is paramount, so you will be responsible for working with your team in helping them define a specific career development path, then create action items and milestones to ensure continuous career development progress for all downstream reports. You’ll also be responsible for delivering/discussing company updates, and you will be the final point of contact for client or employee escalations, ultimately being responsible for solving them.
- Growth/goal management: Develop a thorough understanding of the goals of the organization. Develop and communicate strategies and processes to drive the execution of goals/expectations to the assigned region to ensure success and accountability. Monitor all budgetary needs of the region in a proactive, fiscally responsible way. Proactively work with a cross-functional executive team to ensure a cohesive approach to company goals.
Resourcing Management;
- Process Improvement: Implement and maintain a streamlined resourcing process ensuring efficiency in the deployment of team members for new or existing projects.
- Optimization: Provide proactive guidance on gaps/needs while ensuring available staff is optimally assigned and utilized according to the business needs and skills alignment. Develop appropriate analytics for allocation and utilization and recommend effective processes to resolve any identifiable issues with the leadership team in advance.
- Future needs analysis: Partner with Client Success Manager or Project Manager teams to identify future needs utilization demand and recommend any updates to workforce management planning to the leadership team.
- Partner with HR to ensure you are informing the hiring timeline, as well as the hiring strategy for our book of business.
- Mitigating Reactive hiring and performance management decisions
- Understanding our business cycle and having the ability to manage the distribution, delivery, and planning of resourcing management 90 days in advance
Delivery, Execution & Project Leadership:
- Customer Experience: Build a culture of accountability based on customer outcomes and develop ongoing improvements to processes and resources to ensure our team members continue to make an impact.
- Deliverables: Manage and have an understanding of the roadmap for project portfolio deliverables and milestones. Partner with Customer Success Managers or Project Manager team to ensure success. Effectively communicate, Mitigate risks, implement solutions, take corrective actions, keep all parties informed while maintaining an expectation of excellence.
- Advisor: Function as a trusted advisor for internal business partners, as well as our clients. Manage deadlines and enable clear, concise communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work with Senior Leadership to understand Marvel Marketers' vision and high-level goals.
- Identify and craft meaningful projects that move the needle for the organization and benefit our employee's development as well as our client's needs
- Partners cross-functionally across Managers, and Teams to ensure the successful delivery and management of these projects.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven track record and 12+ years of experience leading, managing, and executing services lines book of business with a complete delivery responsibility.
- 6+ years of Marketing Agency and or Consulting Services experience managing and building remote teams.
- Practical experience of resource capacity, allocation, and utilization models against billable, non-billable and productive utilization.
- Highly analytical with the ability to consume, understand and make data-driven decisions.
- Possess a strategic mindset that continually thinks of new and innovative ways to build, scale and optimize execution and processes.
- Leader-level communication skills, ability to match audience/employees communication styles, demonstrate leadership, confidence & emotional intelligence.
- A Technology lover with strong technical skills with a mindset of using technology is an enabler to solve business challenges/needs.
- Well-versed in Google G-Suite/Workspace, Salesforce.com, and Mavenlink.
