Location: 100% Remote – Candidate must reside and work within the United States

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT (may require work outside regular hours with prior approval)


Position Overview

Texas Education Agency (TEA) is seeking an experienced ASP.NET Core Developer with expertise in Angular 14 and above to support applications related to special education, serving charter schools and school districts. The selected candidate will contribute to full-stack web development efforts, system integration, UI enhancements, and performance optimization.

This position is part of TEA’s ongoing efforts to improve business intelligence and user experience for stakeholders across the state.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using ASP.NET Core and Angular (14+).
  2. Build and maintain user interfaces and responsive front-end pages.
  3. Develop and manage SQL databases, stored procedures, and SSRS reports.
  4. Design and implement Web APIs and ensure RESTful service compliance.
  5. Modify legacy .NET applications to meet 504 ADA compliance requirements.
  6. Conduct unit and integration testing for both front-end and back-end components.
  7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and performance issues.
  9. Document application logic, workflows, and system dependencies.
  10. Participate in Agile/Scrum practices and DevOps processes.
  11. Assist in efforts to bring down cloud applications to on-premises when necessary.


Minimum Qualifications

Candidates who do not meet these minimum requirements may be presented but are unlikely to be selected.

  1. 10+ years of recent experience with ASP.NET Core and C#
  2. 10+ years of experience with SQL Server, including schema design, stored procedures, Entity Framework, and SSRS
  3. 6+ years of experience with front-end technologies (HTML, TypeScript, CSS, JavaScript, Angular)
  4. 5+ years of experience with unit testing tools (xUnit, NUnit, Selenium)
  5. 4+ years of experience with RESTful APIs and web services
  6. 3+ years of experience with Angular 14+ (recent work must reflect this)
  7. 3+ years of experience in creating ADA 504 Compliant web pages
  8. 3+ years of experience with data integration and ETL
  9. 3+ years of experience with Bootstrap, Blazor, and jQuery
  10. 2+ years of experience with Angular 18
  11. 4+ years (Preferred) familiarity with Angular CLI, Angular Material, and RxJS
  12. 3+ years (Preferred) experience with Azure cloud services
  13. 2+ years (Preferred) working with Azure SQL Database
  14. 2+ years (Preferred) experience with ArcGIS

Terms & Work Environment

  1. Candidate will operate remotely from within the U.S.
  2. No reimbursement for travel, per diem, or relocation unless pre-approved by TEA.
  3. All work products are considered “works made for hire” and are the property of TEA.
  4. Vendor is responsible for verifying the candidate’s credentials and ensuring resume accuracy.
  5. Candidate may be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays with prior approval.
  6. Candidate will follow TEA's timesheet process and may only invoice for approved hours.
  7. The work order may be renewed for up to three additional fiscal years with identical terms.
