Job Description:

Hi! We’re The Wanderlust Group an outdoor technology company composed of Dockwa.com and Marinas.com. We build marketplaces that connect adventurers to outdoor destinations, and technology that helps those destinations thrive. We believe that the best way we can make the world better is to get people out in it.

At The Wanderlust Group, you’ll be an integral part of a growing team, able to make an immediate impact and work alongside some of the most talented and dynamic people anywhere. We believe that a great culture enables great teams to do incredible things.

As a Design Summer Intern, you’ll be a key partner in rolling out and scaling one of Dockwa’s newest and most exciting features for marinas. Your day-to-day will consist of taking marina assets and turning them into stylized vector maps, collaborating with our Marina Success Managers and Implementation team via Slack to ensure the maps meet the needs of our users and reflect the latest updates from our partner marinas, and working with our product teams to ensure consistency across our user base. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Figma, especially Figma components and auto layout, as well as Slack and Google Drive.

This internship will last roughly from May through August. Candidates must be based in the United States.

As a Design Summer Intern at The Wanderlust Group, you will:

  • Create and update marina maps using Figma components and auto layout
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with the team on design iterations and adjustments
  • Collaborate with the Marina Success Managers and Implementation team
  • Manage design files and project documents on Google Drive
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once and meet project deadlines

We think the best candidates will:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in a design related field
  • Proficient in Figma, especially components and auto layoutFamiliar with Slack and Google Drive
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Passion for design and eagerness to learn and grow as a designer

We also care a lot about the marinas we serve. They are often small businesses playing an important role in the local economy around them. That dedication carries through our work. Finally, because we are wanderers at heart, we are a remote-first company. This, and all positions, can be based anywhere in the United States.
