Pre-Health Shadowing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides accessible shadowing, volunteering, and research opportunities to pre-health students around the world. The organization focuses on reducing inequities in health education by offering virtual experiences that remove geographic and financial barriers. Pre-Health Shadowing promotes diversity and inclusion across healthcare professions, helping students from varied backgrounds explore and prepare for clinical careers. Through partnerships with healthcare professionals and institutions, the organization creates structured educational sessions and resources that support students’ long-term success.

Role Description The Department Head of Website Development (Volunteer) is a 100% remote, unpaid volunteer leadership role responsible for owning the entire technical ecosystem and leading the technical strategy for Pre-Health Shadowing. This executive-level volunteer position involves architecting the high-level infrastructure of the organization's WordPress site, user support systems, and live-session tools. The Department Head will direct, mentor, and coordinate team leads across Website Development, Live Tech Support, and User Tech Support. Day-to-day tasks include managing high-level system integrations (such as Zoom APIs and LMS plugins), allocating technical resources, and spearheading workflow optimizations across the IT department. The volunteer will report directly to executive management on project timelines while committing approximately 10–15 hours per week for a minimum of 6 months.
