Job Summary:
Our client, a world-renowned outdoor and international brand, is seeking a creative Copywriting and Content Specialist to join their team.
The Copywriting & Content Specialist -Ecommerce is responsible for product copywriting and content creation across company websites and marketplaces to drive traffic, conversion, and revenue while maintaining a consistent brand voice. The Specialist will use superb writing skills and a strong digital background to produce engaging content for Amazon stores, company websites, and other digital channels. This role works cross-functionally to deliver high-quality product content for accessories, service parts, and apparel items in the digital catalog.
The Specialist will implement and maintain channel-specific content, tailoring copy to align with Amazon’s best practices and ensuring compliance with style guide standards across platforms. They will incorporate SEO best practices to optimize content for maximum organic traffic and findability across digital marketplaces and websites.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Product Content Creation
- Write product descriptions, titles, bullets, and other assets to communicate product features, benefits, and advantages while maintaining an appropriate brand voice.
- Gather and implement product information, including specifications, images, and attributions, in a deadline-driven environment.
- Complete product attribution to drive online merchandising and improve customer experience.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to understand products and execute company strategies.
- Apply business knowledge to prioritize key initiatives within product assortments.
- Apply and update style guides to ensure consistent product presentation.
- Partner with the SEO team to implement best practices that drive findability and organic traffic.
Business Acumen
- Own the brand voice when creating content for digital marketplaces and websites.
- Interpret company strategies and changes to understand their impact on assigned responsibilities.
- Utilize business insights and reporting to prioritize workload effectively.
- Address content-related customer service issues and incorporate customer feedback to improve user experience.
- Identify and deliver product page enhancements (e.g., size charts, tech specs, videos) to aid customers' buying decisions.
- Perform competitive analyses to maintain knowledge of industry trends.
Technical/Process
- Troubleshoot systematic and content display issues to ensure proper representation on digital platforms.
- Evaluate internal workflows, identify areas for improvement and present solutions.
- Possess a thorough understanding of internal tools and systems, with the ability to adapt to new processes and technologies as eCommerce evolves.
- Act as a subject matter expert within various content disciplines to drive process improvements and enhance style guides.
Requirements, Skills, and Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years of proven experience as an E-commerce Content Specialist and/or copywriter, with a focus on marketplaces and SEO.
- Experience writing product content for Amazon preferred; experience with other marketplaces is a plus.
- Superb oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong knowledge of SEO principles, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and technical SEO.
- Experience with SEO tools and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or Moz.
- Solid understanding of e-commerce marketplace algorithms and best practices for optimization.
- Experience with style guides and detailed content standards, including generating and implementing them.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong aptitude for learning new systems and software tools.
- Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving measurable goals.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) is required.
- Continuous learner with an awareness of current eCommerce and content trends.
- Powersports industry knowledge or related writing experience is a plus.
