Responsibilities

WellStar Kennestone Hospital has an opportunity for a Coordinator Women’s Health & Specialist Services.

Full-Time Day Shift 7:30am -4:00pm

The Women’s Health and Specialty Services (WHSS) program provides all women delivering at Kennestone Hospital with the education, support, and resources they need to navigate the Women’s Health System. WHSS provides in-patient new and expecting parents with education, support, follow up after discharge, and referrals to community resources. WHSS provides needed education and support to Women’s Unit patients as well. WHSS also offers patients of Kennestone’s Women’s Services a Specialty package. The Women’s Health and Specialty Services Educator will provide education, support and navigation to patients participating in WHSS programs. WHSS also provides navigation and education to WellStar employees participating in the Building Families program.

Qualifications

Required Minimum Education:
Graduate of an accredited university with a degree or certification in a related field. Prefer certification or degree in family\child development, social work, nursing, lactation, or childbirth/parenting education.

Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum one (1) year experience in the health care/parenting field collaborating with a variety of disciplines (at least (two) 2 of the following) – health care providers, social workers, parents, service providers, and/or community service agencies.

Required Minimum Skills:
Independent, self-directed, adaptable to change, positive work attitude. Organizational and above-average communication skills a must. Presentation skills. Computer expertise in e-mail, word processing. Knowledge of community resources.
