The Role
Are you a whiz with words? Do you have a knack for creating content that informs and engages target audiences? If so, we want you to join the Headlands Research team as our Content Marketing Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and publishing a variety of content (including social media posts, blog posts, emails, articles, ebooks, infographics, and more) to promote our clinical trial sites and their respective research studies.
You will collaborate with other members of the patient recruiting and marketing team, site staff and external vendors to develop content strategies that align with our overall marketing and recruiting goals. You will also be responsible for managing our content calendar and ensuring that all deadlines are met. To be successful in this role, you must be a strong writer with excellent editing and proofreading skills and be able to create brand-compliant, on-point visuals to accompany your amazing writing. You should also be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while being a great team player.

Reports to: Vice President Patient Experience & Marketing
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
3-5 years of writing experience, with a strong portfolio of work
Exceptional research, editing, and proofreading skills
Experience with graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign or similar like Canva (Photoshop currently)
Ability to distill complex topics into clear and concise language
Familiarity with SEO best practices and keyword research
Experience developing and executing content marketing campaigns
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and social media platforms
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter who can work independently
Working knowledge of content management systems, such as WordPress preferred
Basic HTML/CSS skills preferred
Familiarity with Google Analytics and other reporting tools preferred
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry; clinical trial process (design and conduct) across Phases II-IV; and how patient recruitment fits within the process is also preferred.
