The Role

 


Are you a whiz with words? Do you have a knack for creating content that informs and engages target audiences? If so, we want you to join the Headlands Research team as our Content Marketing Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and publishing a variety of content (including social media posts, blog posts, emails, articles, ebooks, infographics, and more) to promote our clinical trial sites and their respective research studies.

You will collaborate with other members of the patient recruiting and marketing team, site staff and external vendors to develop content strategies that align with our overall marketing and recruiting goals. You will also be responsible for managing our content calendar and ensuring that all deadlines are met. To be successful in this role, you must be a strong writer with excellent editing and proofreading skills and be able to create brand-compliant, on-point visuals to accompany your amazing writing. You should also be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently while being a great team player.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and proofread compelling copy for a variety of marketing collateral including social media posts, website content, blog posts, articles, e-books, infographics, email campaigns, and more.
  • Develop an editorial calendar and manage the production schedule to ensure timely delivery of all content for all sites.
  • Be data-driven and comfortable with leveraging data to make strategic decisions with content creation i.e., monitor analytics to gauge the effectiveness of each piece of content and make necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct keyword research and utilize SEO best practices to ensure that all content is optimized for search engine ranking.
  • Collaborate with other members of the marketing team and Site stakeholders to ensure that all content aligns with the overall marketing strategies at each site.
  • Distribute content across all appropriate channels, including social media, email, and the clinical trial websites.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and develop new ideas for content topics and formats.
  • Research and interview subject matter experts to gather information for use in content.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust priorities as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Proofread and edit content created by other members of the team.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on all content before publication.
  • Ability to flex as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field

  • 3-5 years of writing experience, with a strong portfolio of work

  • Exceptional research, editing, and proofreading skills

  • Experience with graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign or similar like Canva (Photoshop currently)

  • Ability to distill complex topics into clear and concise language

  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and keyword research

  • Experience developing and executing content marketing campaigns

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and social media platforms

  • Superior verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-starter who can work independently

  • Working knowledge of content management systems, such as WordPress preferred

  • Basic HTML/CSS skills preferred

  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and other reporting tools preferred

  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry; clinical trial process (design and conduct) across Phases II-IV; and how patient recruitment fits within the process is also preferred.
