This well-funded start-up FinTech, backed by one of the worlds leading VC funds, major tech firms, PhD scientists and industry experts, is seeking a highly intelligent and academically accomplished Full Stack Software Engineer.

Joining their core engineering team, you are responsible for the full lifecycle development of their highly secure multifactor authentication B2B payment verification platform incorporating advanced Artificial Intelligence.

Their flagship product is both a web application and an API that ensures the secure transfer of sensitive financial data whilst tackling payment fraud and deep fakes in a market worth $45 Billion.

The Role

As part of a small academic team, you will take full ownership of projects which includes core systems development and optimisation, requirements gathering, new feature design, deployment and testing.

You’ll work in a collaborative environment, solving highly complex and challenging problems related to security, performance, and user experience.

Although you don't need to be a designer, an understanding of intuitive design principles is important for this role, as the product must be both highly functional and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full lifecycle design, development and deployment of highly complex and scalable solutions using Python and Django, PostgreSQL, Vue.js, GCP, and AWS.
• Ensure all development adheres to security best practices, particularly around authentication and API security.
• Actively contribute to improving the product, identifying and resolving potential issues, and optimizing performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Essential: Degree in Computer Science (or related) with a high GPA (4.0 or as close as possible).
• A demonstrable background of taking ownership of full lifecycle projects and seeing them into production with tangible outcomes.
• Testing and debugging.
• 3-5+ years building and deploying complex Web Applications and/or APIs.
• 3-5+ years with Python or back end language (Rust, Go, Java, .Net, C++)
• Experience with Vue.js, React.js, (or similar JavaScript frameworks)
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS and GCP.
• The ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in Security, Identity, Crypto, FinTech or Payment-related products.
• Understanding of fraud detection techniques and secure financial transactions.
• Knowledge of secure API development and authentication flows.
