DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the appraisal activities related to right of way acquisitions, dispositions, and maintenance unit property requirements. Duties will include analyzing highway construction plans, interpreting market data to create and evaluate appraisal reports, and examining real estate descriptions to ascertain the precise location and dimensions of necessary right-of-way. In addition, you will possess the ability to effectively plan, organize, delegate, and authorize work assignments for both staff and fee appraisers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

 

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after successful probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
  • This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a General Real Estate Appraiser (commonwealth title); or
  • Three years of professional real estate appraisal experience which includes one year appraising all types of real property.

Necessary Special Requirements:

  • All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified General Appraiser certification.
  • All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
