This position is responsible for performing analyses of programs, policies, practices and organization structures throughout the department; budget development and monitoring; and a variety of activities relating to federal and state legislation review. This position is also responsible for coordinating processes for promulgating administrative rule changes for the department.
At the entry level, the employee works under close supervision, and at the advanced level, the employee works under general supervision. The employee at the advanced level performs the same job duties as it does at the entry level, but with more independence and autonomy than at the entry level.
Salary Information
Depending on qualifications, the salary for the entry level will be between $31.00 - $33.00 per hour ($64480 - $68640 per year) in accordance with the provisions of the current Compensation Plan. This position is in pay schedule 81, range 04.
Depending on qualifications, the salary for the advanced level will be between $32.00 - $39.00 per hour ($66560 - $81120 per year) in accordance with the provisions of the current Compensation Plan. This position is in pay schedule 81, range 03.
For both level positions, a one-year probationary period will be required.

Qualifications

A minimally qualified applicant must have all the following:
Training, education, or experience with program or policy analysis (e.g., analyzing the impact of proposed legislation or non-legislative initiatives to an organization, developing policy alternatives and new initiatives, providing program/policy recommendations to managers, etc.); and
Training, education, or experience with federal, state, or local budgets (e.g., estimating costs of an organization’s operations/programming, determining budget implications, making budget recommendations to leadership, etc.); and
Experience researching information and communicating it to a non-technical audience.
Well-qualified applicants will also have:
Training, education, or experience producing numerical projections or fiscal analyses (e.g., expenditure/revenue projections, cost estimates, case-load estimates, analyzing trend data, etc.); and/or
Training, education, or experience with administrative rules processes; and/or
Training, education, or experience with K-12 education policy.
