Job Description:

Woody Bogler Trucking Company is a family-owned transportation provider that has been in business for 100 years. With $55.5 million dollars in revenue, the company has 210 trucks, and 420 trailers. We are looking for a candidate that would like to grow with the company and increase their responsibility.

The Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections. Collaborate with the billing team to coordinate billing activities and ensure invoicing accuracy. Assist in payroll administration, working closely with the current payroll clerk on charge codes, and compliance, ensuring accuracy with applicable regulations. Contribute to payroll tax calculations and filings for 3 entities within the organization. Ensure all accounting practices are in compliance with legal guidelines and GAAP. Processes and analyses accounts payable and tax preparation. Prepares general ledger account analyses. Monitor cash flow and assist in cash management activities to support daily operations. Identifies and analyzes discrepancies within financial records. Works to facilitate the distribution, management, and documentation of the company’s financial resources. Works closely with the CFO to create and maintain accounting policies and procedures, develop formal metrics and design processes to assist accounting and operating unit performance. Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices in bookkeeping functions.

Background Required:

  • Accounting Experience (3+ years)
  • Operational accounting (A/P, A/R, payroll,)
  • Invoice processing.
  • Financial Statements (Month-end-close, income statements, tax preparation and payment)
  • Cost reduction & containment programs
  • Accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, McLeod)
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Education: BS or BA degree (i.e., Accounting, Finance)
  • Location: Gerald, MO (relocation assistance)

Background Preferred (but not required):

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Transportation experience
  • Process Improvement & Implementation
  • Monthly analysis (leadership/management identifying trends/metrics allowing accurate decision making)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
