Job Description:
  • POSITION SUMMARY
  • The purpose is to keep the residents active and involved, socially, mentally, and physically in accordance with the mission, established policies and procedures and guidelines of Arcadia Senior Living.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Make every attempt to have all residents participate on a regular basis in the activities offered at Arcadia.
  • Facilitate, and direct the ongoing social, spiritual, educational, and recreational activities for residents of all levels, abilities, interests, and ages.
  • Tastefully Decorating the community for special functions, events, and holidays.
  • Establish positive relationship with newspaper for submission of articles and on-site coverage of activities, events, etc.
  • Create posters for indoor/outdoor activities and post in appropriate areas.
  • Maintain direct communication with staff regarding activities, special needs, and common area set-up and availability.
  • Arrange for all necessary supplies and run errands.
  • Operate the community van for transport of residents to activities and or occasionally doctor appointments, banking, etc.
  • Securement of residents in standard and motorized wheelchairs on community van.
  • Complete the “Getting to Know You” and “Event Interest Questionnaire” forms with new residents. As well, any regulatory form requirements.
  • Prepare and coordinate RSVP list for outside functions.
  • Be able to work a flexible work schedule according to events and activities including occasional week- ends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Work with all staff and Managers in a positive and professional manner.
  • Support and assist with marketing functions whether it be decorating, mailings, securing entertainment, etc.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
  • Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergency procedures.
  • QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
  • Ability to be friendly, positive, professional, and cheerful; interact easily with residents, resident families, visitors and co-workers.
  • Ability to work in stressful situations, remaining calm and demonstrating good judgment and self-control in emergency and difficult situations.

  • Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks and requires minimum supervision.
  • Displays cleanliness, good grooming, personal appearance, and follows dress code requirements consistently.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.

  • Resident issues are confidential and not to be discussed outside of work
  • Participation on committees as requested.
  • Provides guidance to supervisors and employees.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Regularly required to listen and speak with individuals and groups.
  • Lifting and moving furniture and equipment with assistance.
  • Continuous Standing, using hands, reaching, climbing, and balancing.
  • Good vision is required.
  • Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depth of 2 ½ -3 feet
  • Must be able to work irregular hours under pressure and stress.
  • Must have high level of mobility/flexibility in space provided.
  • Be able to lift weight up to approximately 25 lbs.
  • Ability to operate computer system and phone system.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
