Job Description:

An Entertainment provider is seeking a skilled and innovative Lead Web Developer to join our Technology team. While we prefer candidates based in Los Angeles, CA or McAllen, TX, we are open to a fully remote arrangement for the right individual. This role offers the opportunity to lead the development, enhancement, and optimization of our digital platforms. As part of a dynamic and forward-thinking Technology organization, you'll contribute to impactful projects that elevate our digital presence.

Key Responsibilities

Web Development & Backend Systems

  1. Build and maintain WordPress websites using custom themes and plugins
  2. Develop custom WordPress functionality using PHP
  3. Manage MySQL databases for efficient data storage and retrieval
  4. Configure and maintain Ubuntu/Nginx servers
  5. Create front-end features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Vue.js
  6. Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
  7. Monitor and optimize site performance, SEO, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility

Advertising & Monetization

  1. Integrate and manage advertising solutions using Google Ad Manager and programmatic platforms
  2. Optimize ad placements for visibility and revenue
  3. Implement tracking pixels and analytics tools
  4. Collaborate with marketing teams on sponsored content and branded experiences

Mobile & Cross-Platform Development

  1. Ensure seamless integration between web and mobile platforms
  2. Apply mobile-first development strategies and build Progressive Web Apps (PWAs)
  3. Manage mobile ad SDKs, push notifications, and authentication APIs

Technical & Security Responsibilities

  1. Integrate third-party APIs (social media, advertising, analytics)
  2. Maintain WordPress security through regular updates and patching
  3. Implement caching and performance optimization strategies
  4. Use Git for version control and deployment
  5. Participate in Agile development workflows

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Expertise

  1. Strong PHP (8.3) skills with object-oriented programming principles
  2. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript
  3. Deep understanding of WordPress (6.7.1) framework
  4. Experience with MySQL (8) database management
  5. Ubuntu (24.04)/Nginx server administration
  6. Familiarity with caching systems like Redis and Memcached
  7. RESTful and GraphQL API development
  8. Knowledge of UI/UX design principles
  9. Experience with analytics platforms, A/B testing, and conversion rate optimization

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Minimum 2 years of experience in website monetization
  2. Proficiency in digital advertising technologies
  3. Expertise in website security
  4. Experience implementing social media marketing pixels
  5.
