Local manufacturing company is in search of a Quality Engineer:
Duties:
OBJECTIVES: Responsible for conducting ISO 9001-2015 internal and external audits and follow-up actions to drive continual improvement of our quality standards. Responsible to ident ify root cause and corrective actions using problem solving techniques, while training others and involving management to further improveour qualit y culture. The Quality Engineer will promote teamwork and collaboration with our Quality and Production department, serving as an escalation partner in driving continuous improvement throughout production.
Leads the ISO 9001-2015 audit process while working with Process Owners to ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is effective.
- Conduct internal and supplier audits within an 150 -9001- 2015 environment, including closing out audit findings, creating audit finding reports and determining proper corrective actions and preventative actions.
- Lead production and quality teams through problem identification, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Lead initiatives to address product non-conformances, customer complaints and quality issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality and process.
- Support the development and implementation of quality control plans, including statistical process control (SPC) methods and tools.
- Responsible to drive a quality system built on continuous improvement to ensure no internal defects ship to customers. Analyze failure, corrective and preventative action to respond to customer complaints.
- Analyze quality data, metrics, and trends to identify areas of improvement and drive continuous quality improvement initiat ives.
- Utilize Quality tools such as 80, 5-why, Fishbone diagrams, and process mapping.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of Quality experience in a manufacturingenvironment
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality assurance princip les
- Experience with supplier quality management is preferred.
- Experience in Produ ction Part Approva l Process (PPAP) is preferred .
- Experience in Stat istical Process Cont rol {SPC) and related capabil ity development .
- Experience in continuousimprovement, and problem-solving methodology and techniques such as SS.
- Experience using 8D, 5-why, Fishbone diagrams and process mapping.
- Excellent wr itt en, verbal, and interpe rsonal commu nicat ion skill s for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
- Eff ective time management skills and ability to quickly respond to changing prior ities
- Quick learner with a willingnessto contribute in areas outside of the job description
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Access, Word, Power Point, etc.)
