Job Summary
The TallWood Design Institute in the College of Forestry seeks an Outreach Manager. This is a full-time(1.00 FTE), 12-month professional faculty position.
Outreach and education to professionals in architecture, engineering, construction and wood products manufacturing about using mass timber and other wood products in the built environment is a key function of the TallWood Design Institute (TDI).
In many respects, this position deals with the “face” of TDI. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, monitoring, and managing TDI’s outreach program, including authoring, assembling, and updating outreach materials; planning outreach events; supervising web and print-based communication efforts; maintaining and growing our external networks; managing close linkages with our affiliated researchers; and creating and managing communications and marketing strategies.
The Outreach Manager will collaborate with TDI team members, associated faculty, and allied professionals. This work includes amassing and keeping current a library of information on various mass timber topics, documenting and disseminating research results and other newsworthy developments for fact sheets and web updates, giving presentations, and representing TDI at various events, trade shows, and conferences.
The professional audience for TDI outreach includes building code officials, government officials, architects, structural engineers, wood products manufacturers, and contractors.

What You Will Need
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions, and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
