JOB SUMMARY

This position is to support the backend network (NO end-user ticketing), the majority of the work performed will be autonomously driven.

Millennium Enterprise Corporation (MEC) is looking for a Network Administrator to join our Infrastructure team. As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and supporting MEC's internal data center and our client's data center. You oversee LANs, WANs, VLANs, and telecommunications infrastructure, including VoIP phone systems, IP-based fax systems, video conferencing, and internet-based services within Windows Domain and servers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement strategic plans to ensure network capacity meets existing and future requirements.

• Oversees systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.

• Network configuration and management of a wide array of networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, and VoIP systems.

• Implements network security according to NIST standards and established best practices.

• Communicate with the internal team and customers regarding network design and incidents.

• Responds to escalated help desk issues and provide resolution. Interacts with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues in a timely manner.

• Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

• Must have strong knowledge of routing and switching. Experience with Ruckus/Brocade, HP, and Cisco gets you to the front.

• Strong customer service skills, demonstrated through leadership and strategic thinking, with the ability to work and manage multiple customer issues simultaneously, are a must.

• Must have strong knowledge of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest Path First), IS-IS (Intermediate System to Intermediate System), Policy Routing, and MPLS.

• Must have good knowledge on Linux, UNIX and BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution).

• Must have excellent troubleshooting skills.

• Experience supporting DNS and DHCP.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree. Engineering or Computer Science with 7+ years of Network Administrator experiences.
