Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Graphic Artist to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Medical Graphic Artist, you will play a pivotal role in creating visually compelling and accurate medical illustrations, animations, and graphics that support medical education, research, and patient communication. This role requires a deep understanding of medical concepts, anatomy, and the ability to translate complex information into visually engaging and informative materials.

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • Extensive experience 5 years) in medical illustration and graphic design, preferably in a healthcare or medical education setting
  • Proficiency in industry-standard graphic design software, 3D modeling tools, and multimedia production
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and medical procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex medical concepts visually
  • Effective project management and organizational skills
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of medical illustration and graphic design work
  • Produce high-quality medical illustrations, diagrams, and graphics for use in educational materials, presentations, and publications
  • Create visually accurate representations of medical concepts, anatomy, surgical procedures, and medical conditions
  • Develop 3D animations and multimedia presentations to explain complex medical procedures, treatment methods, and disease processes
  • Utilize industry-standard software for 3D modeling, animation, and interactive media production
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, surgeons, and researchers, to ensure accuracy and relevance in medical graphics
  • Interpret medical data and translate it into visual content that effectively communicates key concepts to diverse audiences
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to deadlines and high-quality deliverables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including content creators, medical writers, and multimedia specialists, to achieve project goals
  • Stay abreast of the latest medical advancements, procedures, and technologies to incorporate accurate and up-to-date information into visual materials
  • Continuously enhance skills and knowledge in medical illustration and graphic design
  • Conduct thorough reviews of medical graphics to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project objectives
  • Implement feedback from medical professionals and stakeholders to refine and improve visual materials
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior graphic artists, sharing expertise and best practices in medical illustration
  • Facilitate training sessions to enhance the team's skills and knowledge in medical graphic design

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree - Medical Illustration, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • Certifications that may be needed/beneficial may include:
  • SSCP or A+ CE or CCNA Security or Network+CE
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL are a plus
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
