IT Systems Administrator Position Summary
The system administrator is responsible for all aspects of application environments to include planning, evaluating, designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting to meet business and security requirements. Daily activities include user maintenance across the employment lifecycle, emergency and Tier 3 desktop support, incorporating security standards, manage daily operations, maintain overall system health, applying appropriate patches and virus/malware protections, and maintaining equipment inventory, and software licenses.
This position’s preferred work location is Northern VA or the greater Houston area for hybrid or onsite work. Remote work will be considered for the right candidate.
You must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance for consideration.
Essential Duties:
· Manage cloud application environment: Office 365, Azure Active Directory, and future applications.
· Manage employee computing lifecycle: onboarding, equipment and license management and maintenance, off boarding.
· Provide emergency and Tier 3 desktop support including off hours support (primary support is outsourced).
· Manage all aspects of third-party IT vendor relationships: vendor selection, scope of work, vendor performance and delivery.
· Lead internal IT projects, report status, manage to a deadline, and operate against a budget.
· Execute defined corporate IT strategies.
· Ensures that all applications meet SSO requirements.
· Lead audits and maintenance of Identity and Access Management (IAM) including Active Directory (AD), and various SaaS and Cloud infrastructure and applications.
· Assist with and develop safeguards for CUI and PII and maintain requirements in accordance with guidance from Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Facility Security Officer (FSO) as appropriate.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required:
· Bachelors degree in computer science or IT or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 10+ years of experience and demonstrated mastery of subject matter.
· Experience administering Windows, AD, exchange, O365.
· Experience managing network functions via Windows Server, DHCP, DNS, AD Certificate Services and Active Directory.
· Experience administering Security Information and Event Management systems.
· Experience managing Linux servers, Hyper Visors.
· Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Service environments.
· Strong working knowledge of desktop operating systems including Windows OS, Ubuntu Linux and Mac OS.
· Strong working knowledge of server and networking hardware repair and configuration.
· Strong knowledge of authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security.
Preferred:
· Microsoft MCP preferred (administrator, data engineer, solutions architect, security engineer).
· Certification in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Service environments.
· Experience managing to DoD security regulations.
· Security+ certification.
