Job Description
The Import Sales Specialist/Coordinator assists with the flow of our company’s products into our customer’s countries and into the United States. A thorough knowledge of the import process (Direct Import, POE, or to our warehouse) is required. He/She is responsible for the preparation and distribution of all required import documentation in a timely fashion to the appropriate parties. This individual should have experience in ocean LCL & FCL shipments, Customs and billings. This person will also manage activities and meet customer requests during the sales process. The ideal candidate should be very detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Specific Responsibilities
- Have expert knowledge of our key customer’s import processes. Communicate customer documentation requirements to vendors and agents.
- Secure necessary documentation (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Ladings) whenever an order is shipped.
- Complete documentation for receipt of shipments, or review documentation in order to correctly process shipments. Trace key transaction information (BL, commercial invoice, and other required documents). Index and create tracking files to initiate clearance process once documents are received.
- Review forwarder cargo receipt, seaway bill of lading, commercial invoice, packing list, and insurance certificates accordingly. Send to respective recipients as necessary.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of import documentation.
- Manage shipping schedule to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
- Monitor and coordinate progress of each shipment daily to ensure that appropriate and timely communication is provided to the management team, our clients, and/or the carrier regarding discrepancies, changes or any issues that directly affect the shipment or operations of our Company.
- Organize and file paperwork for Direct Import and POE shipments.
- Execute timely and accurate order entry in company ERP system and set shipment timelines and expectations to overseas vendors (factory partners)
- Assist with product set up for both in-store and online programs (product info, online content etc).
- Navigate and work within different customer portals to access & input data/info.
- Maintain both cost and sales pricing updates and maintain item specification sheets including setting up new items for key accounts
- Facilitate sample requests, photography requests as well as customer marketing samples.
- Work with customer service team to manage purchase orders internally and externally to ensure on time shipments,
Requirements
- BA/BS or equivalent degree
- 2-5 years experience, preferably with a US wholesale importer.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding, logistics, and supply chain is a plus.
- Must be a team player who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get into the details; has a track record of getting things done.
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Very organized, self-motivated, and self-directed
- Ability to handle issues in a professional manner
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Aprise/Aptean ERP systems a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs especially Excel
- 5 days a week in the office in Camarillo, CA

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
