Job Description:

The HR Technology Consultant is part of the People Systems Team and will design, develop , test , and implement technology solutions for the People Department . This role will monitor , troubleshoot , and provide maintenance support to the Workday portal to ensure function s are completed seamless ly . They will also collaborate with various workg roups and support Company initiatives by offering guidance and expertise with process impro vements, HR Technology strategy development , and strategic portfolio planning. The HR Technology Consultant is a strong communicator with a continuous improvement mindset and is excited to be part of impactful initiatives that drive the future of Southwest .

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work at a Company facility at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Job Summary

Works closely with Internal Customers to leverage technology solutions to maximize return on investment and to assist Internal Customers business processes. Proactively seeks opportunities to optimize existing process automation and reduce manual activities, thus lowering operating costs. Works broadly across the People Department understanding the full People Technology portfolio of systems. Works to actively reduce redundancy of capabilities and ensures consistency in the vetting of and protection of PII data to any system within or outside Southwest Airlines.

Responsibilities

Conduct analysis and identify solutions to business problems

Collaborate with Stakeholders to ensure features and subsequent stories meet expectations

Communicate with key Stakeholders to determine project requirements and objectives

Develop, document, and revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards

Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to a user environment

Configure, maintain or update business intelligence tools, databases, dashboards, systems, or methods

Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve workflow

Identify impediments and potential solutions; challenge the status quo to improve quality, predictability, flow, and velocity

Define and drive direction for the enterprise within an agile framework and achieve goals using standard program and project management methodologies and practices

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of principles and processes for providing Customer and personal services including Customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of Customer satisfaction

Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology

Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media

Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems

Skilled in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making

Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

Skilled in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense

Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Experience

Required: Advanced-level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:

Functional experience and support of HR and/or Payroll systems

Preferred: Experience with Workday and Jira

Licensing/Certification

N/A

Physical Abilities

Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time

Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job

Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from is $112,950 to $125,500 pending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the
discretion of the company.
