PRIMARY FUNCTION:
GPEC is looking to hire a new Graphic Designer to provide creative direction and support to our organization. This person will be designing a wide variety of things across digital, traditional, and offline media to effectively promote GPEC and its products and services. We are seeking someone experienced in delivering creative ideas and following through to content creation and distribution. With direct oversight and support from the Marketing Manager, the Graphic Designer will showcase GPEC by creating designs aligned with the organizationâs branding and voice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Plan and illustrate concepts by designing examples of graphic arrangement, size, type size, and style and submitting them for approval.
- Coordinate with vendors, art services, and other external groups for various design needs
- Work with internal business partners on the development of communication pieces, ensuring company brand requirements are followed.
- Create a wide range of graphics and layouts for illustrations, company logos, business cards, email campaigns, customer invites, social media graphics, newsletters, etc.
- Review final layouts and suggest improvements when necessary.
- Responsible for ordering all GPEC related branding and promotional advertising items.
- Prepare presentation decks in PowerPoint.
- Support the marketing department with events and campaigns when necessary.
- Process and approve vendor invoices as needed.
- Manage printing related tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
Bachelorâs degree in graphic design or related arts field in required along with 5-7 years of experience.
Skills/Experience:
- 5-7 years of graphic design experience
- Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
- Expert knowledge is required using desktop publishing tools, including InDesign and Adobe Suite
- Understanding of following brand guidelines and great attention to detail
- A strong eye for visual composition and aesthetics
- Skilled in the manipulation of colors, shapes, fonts, images, photography, print design, logos, and animation
- Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, advertisements, and multimedia design
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines.
- Skilled in vendor management, such as paper supplies
Physical:
- Ability to periodically travel overnight (sometimes overnight)Â
