ABOUT YOU

The Director of Video Production at SAF will be responsible for leading the video team through all stages of the production process. The Director will be the first point of contact for clients, working with them through the whole cycle of the production process, from concept development through the execution of final deliverables. The ability to lead a team and develop internal and external processes and procedures for the video department is a vital part of this role.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the overall strategy, development, and execution of video productions
• Oversee the overall health of the department, ensuring the department is meeting established goals
• Act as the main point of contact for clients’ for video production related matters
• Act as a mentor and resource for the internal SAF video team
• Ability to translate a client’s vision into actionable deliverables
• Nurture relationships with industry professionals and build outside relationships to work with the SAF team, inclusive of vendors, contractors, and potential clients
• Lead the ideation and brainstorming of video shoots with the video team
• In coordination with the Video Producer, ensure that all film shoots are set up for success through the entire cycle of production
• Establish processes and procedures for the internal SAF team, as well as external stakeholders, to deliver high level strategy in video production practices
• Ensure that the final deliverables for clients align with the original creative vision
• Working with the COO and Business Manager, forecast future needs of the video department and properly scale the department based off of these needs
• Oversee Video Department’s equipment purchases and rentals
• When needed, step-in for video department roles at video productions
• Other duties as assigned

YOUR SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of previous video production experience in film, television, media, or digital video production
• 8+ years of previous experience leading a team
• Extensive knowledge of physical production protocols, equipment, contracts, releases
• A passion for and a knowledge of all digital and social media platforms
• Must be able to problem solve on the fly
• Must be able to quickly adapt to changes in projects and client goals
• Must have excellent time management skills and have the ability to prioritize
• Must be comfortable with working in a deadline driven, fast paced environment
• Must have the ability to work nights and weekends when necessary

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is a full-time position with an expected work schedule of Monday through Friday, 10-6pm with the occasional nights and weekends when necessary for film shoots. Salary range for this position is $90k-$110k and is a hybrid position: individuals will be permitted to work from home or our Midtown office but are required to live in the NYC metropolitan area.
