Job Description:

The Digital Marketing Specialist works collaboratively as a Marketing team member in researching trends, topics, and concept development to grow and strengthen Portage Learning’s online presence. The position's primary function is to grow organic and paid traffic by implementing SEO strategies, paid ad optimization across Google/social media, and analyzing marketing data. This position will play a key role in campaign development and implementation.

  • Conduct SEO research and advise on content creation and strategy.
  • Identify keywords and phrases for landing pages to help rank higher within organic search.
  • Reach out to relevant websites to gain backlinks through blogs, articles, and other types of content.
  • Analyze website data (traffic, rankings, etc.) and determine actions to improve website performance.
  • Work with internal teams and outside agencies to develop and implement organic growth strategies.
  • Develop a link building strategy to drive traffic to Portage learning’s website from external sites.
  • Work with outside companies to gain backlinks to drive relevant traffic to Portage Learning’s website.
  • Optimize copy and landing pages.
  • Facilitate and monitor digital advertising campaigns on Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Spotify
  • Report on what ads are performing well and advise on adjustments to improve performance.
  • Utilize geo-targeting ad strategies.
  • Researches and analyzes performance, competition, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for buying and analyzing all paid search, paid social, display, programmatic, and retargeting campaigns.
  • Responsible for using and analyzing FB/IG ads manager, Google display networks Adwords, and various other display, programmatic, and retargeting platforms.
  • Conduct recurring daily, weekly & monthly paid social media advertising analysis and campaign optimizations.
  • Create monthly reports using website data and analytics.
  • Stay up to date with algorithm trends and updates through research and professional development.
  • Perform quality control checks on new and existing documents to ensure compliance with brand standards.
  • Help to develop campaigns and content strategies to reach prospective students, as well as school administrators.
  • Work with Program and Institutional Engagement Team to ensure they have all assets necessary for school visits and conferences.
  • Order literature and swag as needed for conferences and school visits.
  • Be an active participant in brainstorming meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of search engine optimization and algorithms
  • Familiarity with Google analytics and marketing research data
  • Knowledge of SEO software (Moz, SEM Rush, etc.)
  • Familiarity with PPC and social media best practice.
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Must be able to maintain a consistent voice and style as applicable to various target audiences across platforms and mediums
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and increase professional knowledge of the latest trends, practices, programs, and applications evolving in SEO.

Qualifications (Education Requirements/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience in design or marketing position.
  • 0-2 years of experience in design or marketing related field.
  • The ideal candidate will be a highly relational self-starter, detail-orientated, and able to work both independently and closely within a team.
  • Demonstrated agreement with the stated mission, philosophy, values, and goals of Portage Learning.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, projectors, and filing cabinets.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Must be able to travel to and work from the office located in Chippewa Township, PA, in addition to working remotely as necessary.

Travel:

This job rarely requires travel but would be mostly local during the business day.
