Check Print Clerk
Position Overview
Position is in-office at our Burbank HQ Monday through Friday.
The Check Print Clerk operates check printers, check stuffers and other check production machinery in the Check Print room. Operations include printing and stuffing checks, preparing check-related report packages, and delivering checks to coordinators. This position is responsible to disable and enable printers and re-route reports if necessary and has primary responsibility for maintaining workflow when two or more are working simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Printing payroll checks and related documents, including invoices and check registers. The printer must be rigorous in matching all checks and paperwork
- Working with check queue priorities and watching daily deadlines, such as the delivery and FedEx cutoffs
- Preparing payroll packages, which can include for front desk pickup, return to the payroll coordinator or for delivery. This function requires strict attention to packaging details, including proper labeling, notation of packages for C.O.D. and other directions that may be indicated by Coordinators
- Basic maintenance of the printers, including changing cartridges and paper as well as clearing paper jams and other “routine” printer problems. The Check printer also has primary responsibility to notify management when devices need service
- Coordinate with facility team office supply orders and ensure that room is organized and has enough supplies for uninterrupted workflow
- The check printer must sometimes lock up the building, including setting the alarms and ensuring that lights are off, etc. The check printer may also work alone on some nights
- Train new check print employees; update employees on new procedures
- Develop team systems that work with co-workers and maintain workflow on the typically busy days of Tuesday – Thursday
- Assist management in documenting workflow and other procedures pertinent to check printing, distribution, packaging, and other functions
- Other related projects as assigned
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- At least one year in an administrative or comparable position
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with others
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize time efficiently
- Able to work in-office at our Burbank location
Special Work Conditions
- Sedentary - involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.
