The Area Director is responsible for overseeing and supporting a staff of multi-unit (district) managers as well as identifying and developing top talent in their area restaurants. This position ensures sales goals, cost controls, and our standard of quality, timeliness, and service are maintained by focusing on improving daily sales, developing and executing marketing plans, and partnering with assigned area staff in the oversight of restaurant operations, which include managing the cost of goods and labor, and community and guest relations. This role establishes the foundation for high-performing restaurants and happy, motivated team members.

Requirements
Leadership & Communication
- Manages the efficiency and technical operating qualities of a group of district managers to ensure company goals are met.
- Is responsible for training and development of leadership staff through teambuilding and other manager motivation initiatives.
- Ensures that all area restaurants comply with food safety and brand guidelines dictated by the franchisor and that all SOPs are compliant.
- Teaches and models the standards of quality, timeliness, and service.
- Fosters and enforces an environment of open communication, positivity, and trustbased relationships among all staff.
- Ensures that customer satisfaction is the priority for every employee.
- Leads by example – maintains professional image, appearance, and language.
- Achieves community awareness and engagement through successful store marketing initiatives.
Financial Performance
- Leads and supports the identification of strategic restaurant objectives and evaluates existing ones; makes improvements and develops new processes to grow top-line sales.
- Partners with district managers and restaurant teams to control food and labor costs. Conducts daily labor analysis to achieve target labor percentage.
- Participates in market budgeting activities.
- Ensures quality control standards and procedures are strictly enforced and that standardized portion control guidelines are closely followed and maintained.
- Monitors sales trends, develops forecasts and makes effective decisions to control the key cost of sales and labor.
- Maximizes productivity without compromising quality standards.
Health & Safety
- Ensures restaurants are compliant with all health department regulations.
- Ensures that in-house and external inspections are conducted and resolves ongoing health and safety standard issues.
- Promptly manages and resolves critical violations on self-inspections and health department inspection reports and implements corrective actions to prevent repeat violations.
Other Responsibilities
- Enthusiastically addresses guests’ needs and special requests and resolves guest complaints or concerns with the commitment to satisfy them.
- Reviews and approves all schedules and forecasts.
- Ensures opening and closing activities are timely and safe.
- Completes operational checklists daily.
- Ensures that cash handling procedures are closely followed.
- Ensures all administrative forms are completed correctly and submitted on time.
- Resolves conflicts and improves team members' performance issues in a constructive manner and according to policies.
- Assists with the supervision of property maintenance in their assigned market.
Qualifications
- Experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and the internet
- Successfully complete a motor vehicle and criminal background check
Physical Requirements: (including but not limited to)
- Ability to stand and walk up to 10 hours/day
- Ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, carry and stoop
- Ability to freely access all areas of the restaurant
- Ability to move or handle items weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations
Ability to travel daily to multiple locations

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
